National Commission  on the Structure of the Air Force's Report
Recommends Force Structure Shift, Greater Integration

NCSAF Hears Testimony From Recently Confirmed Secretary of the Air Force

 CommissionArlington, Va.— Following testimony by Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James, the National Commission on the Structure of the Air Force wrapped up its final public hearing as it continues to develop its Report to the President and Congress.

The January 9, 2014 hearing is part of the Commission’s congressionally mandated mission to comprehensively study the U.S. Air Force and its three components—the active, Reserve, and Guard—for an independent analysis that will determine if and how the Air Force's structure should be modified to best fill current and future mission requirements with available resources. The report and recommendations are due to the President and Congress on Feb. 1, 2014.   Click here to read more.

 

The Commission, pursuant to Section 363(a)(1) of Public Law 112-239, is studying the structure of the Air Force to determine whether, and how, the structure should be modified to best fulfill current and anticipated mission requirements for the Air Force, in a manner consistent with available resources. The Commission, no later than February 1, 2014, will submit a report containing a detailed statement of the findings and recommendations to the President and the Congressional Oversight Committees.  The report will be prepared in accordance with Section 363(a)(2) of Public Law 112-239.
